BIG 12 Conference Tournament Preview

It’s that time of the year, folks, and you can tell I’m taking it seriously because I’m capitalizing letters. This season of college basketball has been more up and down than Dan Bilzerian’s little meat hammer on an island getaway with all 36 of the silicon stuffed models he travels with, which is good and bad. Good because i’m entertained, but bad because I can’t get a read on who’s really gonna fuck me good.

The conference tournaments give us a scouting report on who could potentially win the big dance. For instance, Michigan was a 5 seed in the Big 10 tournament last year. They took that opportunity to get hot and run the table, like an annoying thot thats stealing your vodka in the club, and carry that momentum to where it really counts. Michigan went on to the National Championship last season and got absolutely dong-slapped by Villanova, but their conference tournament run was a clear indication that they could make it deep into the real tournament.

Anyway, here we are. It’s time to slowly build our bankrolls so we aren’t broke when selection Sunday comes around. Here’s what you need to know about the Big 12 Conference Tournament.

And for all my degens, here are the tournament odds.

Texas/TCU Bubble Watch:

Currently, Joe Bacardi Lunardi has Texas in as an 11 seed, and TCU as a Last 4 In. Shaka Smart’s team may not be able to do much considering they are playing Kansas right off that bat, but TCU has a small shot to plead their case. Although they WILL NOT beat K-State, a first round win and a run for the Wildcats money could be enough for them to sneak into a play-in game. If TCU still had Jaylen Fisher, I think they’d be flopped with Texas, but it’s a tough world for an Albino to prosper.

Texas Tech Edits Their Instagram Posts, But Kansas Likes Them:

Texas Tech is that basic white girl, Lindsay, that suddenly grew Kim K’s pelvis overnight and flexed it in her latest Instagram. Don’t slide into her DM’s and fall for her thirst trap, you’re going to end up in world full of regret and Grey’s Anatomy re-runs.

The Big 12 ate each other alive this year but that doesn’t mean every schedule was created equal. Texas Tech finished the season on a 9 game winning streak, but their schedule ranks 53rd in KenPom’s Strength of Schedule Rating. Meanwhile, Kansas ranked #1 overall based on KenPom’s Strength of Schedule rating, and have a few staple out of conference wins from teams including Michigan State, Tennessee, and Villanova.

Yet, Kansas choked down the stretch of the regular season and is now looking at a potential semi final matchup with Texas Tech in the Big 12 tournament. Their value at +500 is worth a double tap on the gram, but for sure NOT worth a DM slide.

The Last Time K-State Won A Big 12 Tournament Was….

The last time Ariana Grande released a good song. So, fucking never. K-State has NEVER won a Big 12 tournament but 2019 is their year.

Their 3 leading scorers are Bobby Brown Jr., Dean Wade, and Kaumu Stokes, who are also all Seniors. I love their experience, they play tough defense, and they have the simplest path to the title game.

Also, my homer/college-ball-connect/rain-man Brandon called K-State a while back, so I’m feeling way too jawned up about this.
